How to reach San Sebastian

• San Sebastian airport is 20 kilometres far from the city. There are only domestic flights from Madrid and Barcelona and the only company operating is Iberia. There is a bus leaving the airport half an hour later than the landing of the plain. The price is 3 euros and it brings you to the centre of San Sebastian in about half an hour. You can also take a taxi, which will cost you about 25 euros.
• Bilbao is the international airport closest to San Sebastian. There are international flights from the following companies: Air Berlin, Aer Lingus, Air France, Alitalia, Easyjet, Hapag Lloyd Express, Iberia, Lufthansa, Portugalia or SN Brussels Airlines. Bilbao is one hour away from San Sebastian by motorway. From the airport in Bilbao, there are several possibilities:
  • VICOMTech can send you a taxi, which costs 110 euros more or less. If we have all the timetables of your flights, VICOMTech can arrange something for you.
  • You can take a taxi from the airport to the bus station in Bilbao, where you can take a bus to San Sebastian every half an hour (timetable). The price of the taxi will be about 25 euros and the bus 8 euros.
  • There is a bus connection between the airport and the bus station (which is the last stop) in the centre of Bilbao. The price for the bus is about 1.5 euros and the frequency seems to be good and it is a daily bus (timetable). From Bilbao, there is an other busconnection to San Sebastian (timetable); note that the last bus from Bilbao is at 10 p.m.
• Finally, Biarritz airport in France is only 35 minutes from San Sebastian. There are many connections with Paris and other French cities, and also Ryanair from London. The only problem is that you need a taxi to San Sebastian, which costs about 70 euros.
